Update on Venus

Share --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I promised I would post an update of Venus - now printed on cloth   I'm about 3/4 of the way done with embellishing her with beads and embroidery and am enjoying reading about Botocelli's Venus again, after seeing her in Florence 5 years ago.  The mythology surrounding Aphrodite and the theories surrounding Venus coming out of the sea fascinate me.   This is just a scan but it does show the stitching in fair detail if you click on it and view it larger.

Any suggestions on how I might add other details before I send her off are welcome!!

She is gorgeous just the way she is in my opinion! :D

She is absolutely wonderful just as she is~ Sometimes I go over my quilted faces with the free motion foot on my machine and I use gold metallic thread. Spirals on her cheeks in the gold might be cool. You always embellish beautifully so I know you'll put just the right finishing touch to her.

Also, isn't it wonderful where art does take us. You explored Boticelli a bit further, even though you saw the original in Florence. Art drives us to learn more and more all the time. I love art!

Who could imagine that Botocelli's "Venus" could be more beautiful!?! Trudi, this piece is absolutely outstanding "as is". Perfection doesn't need any more embellishments!!! The beadwork is statement enough in my humble opinion, and the stitching is exquisite. Hugs, Terri xoxo

PS I truly enjoyed your comment about Lorraine's piece. It's stunning 'in person'. DOLOYAPA!!! (Couldn't resist!!!) xoxoxo

Oh Trudi, this is a lovely piece! The colors are so vibrant. I can't even imagine what else you could do to make her more beautiful...perfect just the way she is! I missed something, where is she going? Is she available on your Etsy?

Beautiful Trudi. Is it too late to say I agree with Cat, maybe a word or some beading to the edges. Whatever you pick I'm sure it will be right, you have the eye!
