Past lives....

Share --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonight after spending much of today away from any artwork,  I decided to get out a  paintbrush and muck around.  I have the weekend alone to create around the clock.

I tried to ignore my inner critic and just follow my muse letting her guide  the brush around the paper.  I've been wanting to create some painting to print onto fabric and add beading, etc. to it.   That is,  until my Caran D'Ache crayons arrive. This may be a fun one to embellish as her 'scarf' may lend itself well to some beading?  I think part of me must have been reflecting on Avatar.... (think blue long noses)  ;0)

When I scanned it I erased the area below her scarf and added some hearts and background digitally.  Maybe this is my muse leading me in a portraiture of herself?

I love the colors and the embellishments on her already. So your idea is to paint it and then transfer to fabric and then do more embellishments?
Ignoring an inner critic is essential I think!

This one is very different. I wonder if you will add beads and other embellishments to her. The colors are rich and she may be your muse? I love the fact that you keep experimenting. That is important in art and leads us into amazing new territories. The whole weekend to do nothing but art sounds wonderful!

Intriguing! Can't wait to see how she develops, Trudi. The colors are so luscious. Enjoy your creative weekend - what a treasure to have such a block of time to create! Hugs, Teri xoxo

I really like the color combos on this. You had some fun with the caran d'ache crayons, eh?! Yes, I sure see the avatarishness! But she is her own self, and a beauty.

I think this is stunningly beautiful not to mention very unique, in a very good way.
I think you can tell that there's a bit of a Mexican influence from when you visited Mexico, in my opinion any way. You see that's what is great about traveling, those influences from other cultures can get into your bones, thoughts and soul and you don't even realize it sometimes. Keep up the exceptional work.

Yummy colors. Such character in the face. I love the little hearts - they are a great embellishment.
