Using old family photographs - Snow Angels

Share --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a series of photos detailing my most recent cloth "skinny page "for an on-going exchange I am participating in.   It's an altered photograph of my mother-in-law (Verna) and her older sister (Viola) taken in the late 1920's.  I altered it digitally, printed it onto cloth and then sewed, embroidered, added the metal snowflakes, lace, buttons and beads.

...i often ponder on what the people would think, of whom these images are often displayed...i cannot help but image that they too...would pause...and smile...and gaze in amazement at how the artist can picture a part of one's soul...a part that a camera fails to embrace.

lovely, ms trudi. lovely.

this piece just shows how accomplished you are at really mixed media and techniques all combined in one piece-- and to have personal family history tied in as well
