Wandering Heart Series-My Current Obsession
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One morning, I received an email from Linda, a very kind woman and talented artist I met when I first moved to Lethbridge. She urged me to visit a website where another artist wrote about her heart wandering away and how she eventually spotted it in several surprising places. I was immediately inspired and began to collect the places my heart has wandered....

Go Ask Albert
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems I'm a little 'stuck' on Einstein these days - the postage stamp is from a collection of stamps I purchased in Victoria, BC this past summer.
I'm sure he had lots of thoughts about metamorphosis as it relates to quantum physics. I would have loved to have listened to his theories surrounding this.

"You Make My Day" Award
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Along with an opportunity to choose some of my favorite blogs, Debby Harriettha gifted me with a blog award earlier this week entitled "You Make My Day Award." Thank you Debby!
Ironically, the two pages she created for an altered book exchange she hosts entitled: "Alphabetica - The Journey" also arrived in the mail. Her pages were two of the best I've ever received. She's my angel this week! It never ceases to amaze me how thoughtful the people I have met via the internet can be. It always reinforces my faith in the 'collective consciousness.'
Here's the fun part - (quoted from Debby's blog)
The rules for the You Make My Day award are to name 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and makes you feel happy about blog land. Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times.
Hermine
Marion
Catherine
Charlotte
Seth
Lisa Austin
Misty
Holly
Alicia
Gaby
Each of the above people have done something extraordinarily giving to me at one time to make my day. It may have been something as simple as sharing their perspective or sending me an unexpected gift or both. You can find the links to their blogs as well as Debby's on the left hand side column here under the heading "Friends and Sources of Inspiration"
Thanks again to Debby and the above-listed people for making my days!

"Before and After" ATC and Original Valentine Give-away
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And the WINNER is VIOLA!!!!! Happy Valentine's Day Viola! I think I have your address already, but just to be sure, please drop me an email at twodressesstudio@shaw.ca and I'll put them in the mail right away.
Thanks and Happy Valentine's Day to everyone else. I hope your day is filled with love - even if it is love you give to yourself.
I found this great vintage photo at a neighbourhood antique shop this weekend and decided I wanted to do something to "give back" to the many wonderful and generous friends I've made over the last 20 months I've been here.
So, here's the deal - Leave me your name in the comment section and I'll draw a winner for both the ATC and the original photo on Valentine's Day.
Good Luck!

B is for Benjamin Franklin - Altered Book Page for Alphabetica Yahoo Group
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a page in my Altered Book - Alphabetica - The Journey. It is a combination of layers of pasted ephemera, vintage postage stamps, Golden liquid acrylics, matte medium, followed by a translucent layer of more images , then scanned and text added digitally. Apart from both being Nobel laureates, Drs. Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin also shared a passionate love for music. Dr. Franklin was an accomplished musician mastering several instruments and invented the armonica. Yes "armonica" it isn't a typo! Einstein loved his violin, and each were avid J.S. Bach fans. Einstein is quoted as saying had he not become a scientist, he'd have been a musician. I find it fascinating to consider the possibilities for collaborative efforts had they both lived within the same century.
