June and July 2011 Giveaway Draw and New CT Work using primarily Tumble Fish Studio images

Share --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Happy Sunday and Father's Day to anyone falling into that category today!  I had forgotten about Father's Day until my daughter called to wish my partner greetings.  Having spent a week with my Dad last week when he was hospitalized out of town, I had the opportunity to 'spruce up' his back deck with some sunflowers, a new birdfeeder and a welcome mat to leave as a surprise when he came home.Thankfully, I had several days to visit him while he was recovering in hospital.  He turned 85 on May 31st and I'm happy to say has recovered from his illness!

While I was at my Dad's I found a series of photographs - here's one I am particularly fond of of my Mom and Dad taken in 1946 while they were dating (taken at Banff National Park, Canada)

My Parents - circa 1946
Love your socks Dad!!!

Here's my latest contributions to some of Marsha's (Tumble Fish Studio) new kits on sale at Deviant Scrap.  Unless otherwise noted, these are primarily Tumble Fish Studio stock images available here

The Blind Date - digital illustration

From 39-46 I was SINGLE and believe me, I went through several blind dates via the on-line dating services. I always chose to meet at Starbucks as it was public, daylight, and a quick 'first live interview'. There were several times, I wanted to run the other way as soon as I walked in the door. This little illustration attempts to depict those times.

What an interesting drawing- and super images. Blind date is very cool- with the juxtaposition of the old fashioned male with the modern starbucks of today. Enjoyed visiting your site. Many thanks :)

Great art that I´d love to win - but ... I even loved the rest of your post more! One day I should send you the beloved photo of my parents in 1946; coats made of woollen blankets and so on. And of course I could relate to your dating confession (though I´ve never done it online). Thanks for sharing!

Oh my! I feel like I just stepped into a delicious bubble bath!!!! Thanks to Magpie's Nest for sending me over here. I'm continually blown away by all the art that I've yet to see just when I think I'm "in the know". Your blog is sooooo lovely and your art is fabulous. I was single with 2 boys in my 30's and had to kiss a lot of frogs (well, there was no gun to my head but it was a small town, lots of frogs) before finding my prince. I LOVE the blind date pic!! You have a way...I'm Stephanie George at doojies@comcast.net.
