Bird's EYE : Digital Collages with Hermine Koster's Painted Background
These are "digital" - using a background Hermine Koster had uploaded for anyone to add to.
What a wonderful idea! I was stalling on my next project and just wanted to 'play'. Her background provided me with the material! I felt like I did when I was a little girl and my Mom had just given me a new boy of crayons!
Thanks gain Hermine!

Hurray and Thanks ArtCHIX!
http://www.artchixstudio.com/
I am learning that for me, part of being a new artist is learning to also be my own cheerleading team. Except of course, for other artists who I'm beginning to know through various groups. I am so grateful to them... especially those who so unselfishly help me to learn - what wonderful souls.
So, although this accomplishment was a very small fish in an ocean of other artists amazing accomplishments and work, it was nevertheless significant for me.
My submission (#15) was chosen to be published for sale along with 14 other beautiful Floral Beauties chosen by Helga, the owner of ArtCHIX Studios. Here is what she wrote: "No one dies - they're always in your heart" - Taylor Greer, age 7
by Taylor Greer, age 7
This is a drawing I received from my girlfriend's daughter, Taylor when my Mom died in 2001. I have held it dear to my heart ever since. I am thinking it would be a wonderful idea to make it into a card and sell it, donating 100% of the profit to Alzheimer's and cancer research. I thought it would be a wonderful project for us to embark on together. But, I must wait to see if she would like to do this with me. She is 13 now!

E M P T Y N E S T - M I X E D M E D I A 10 X 7 APPROX. - SOLD
I recently moved to a new city to be with who I consider "the love of my life." A wonderful man. We had a 'long distance relationship' from December 31, 2003 until May 9th, 2006 and he travelled 1000 km (round trip) every 10 days to be with me for 90% of that time period. We emailed 2 or 3 times a day and racked up huge long distance phone calls. So the story now has a happy ending but as a result I had to make one of my life's hardest decisions: to leave my younger daughter who was 18 at the time. I sought advice from every friend and family member. I begged and pleaded with her to move with me. In the end, and a year later, I haven't regretted my decision. This collage is a reflection on that decision.....
